SlackBoard sales in 2025 more than doubled to $37 million, up from $14 million in 2024. We have sold more than 300,000 SlackBoards since 2023. Inc. Magazine recognized us as one of the fastest growing private companies in America in 2024 and our growth only accelerated last year, so we will likely get that recognition again for 2025. We have barely scratched the surface in our new global markets and we believe there is tremendous opportunity to continue growing in North America and to start selling into these additional markets.
GIBBON North America – Director, Brand
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Director of Brand in our Solana Beach, California office, to support the brand’s omni-channel efforts in North America and beyond. You will lead our brand strategy, visual identity, and content execution. You will sit at the intersection of brand management, product marketing, and creative storytelling. You will champion our brand voice across consumer touchpoints, including product packaging, digital campaigns, retail marketing, and athlete partnerships. The ideal candidate has deep experience in the CPG sector and a profound understanding of sports culture, athlete communities, and fitness lifestyle trends.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Ownership
- Define and evolve the global GIBBON brand identity, voice, and positioning alongside core customer personas.
- Translate business goals into actionable, high-impact marketing campaigns that span multiple touchpoints.
- Oversee the activation of athlete endorsements, sports team sponsorships, and influencer partnerships.
- Direct the visual style across digital and physical assets, leveraging internal and external creative resources.
- Lead, mentor, and scale an internal Brand team that spans branded content, partnerships, and community.
Strategy & Growth:
- Drive the broader marketing calendar, inclusive of the broader brand, consumer, and product moments.
- Lead channel-specific strategies across owned and earned media channels, balancing brand and business goals.
- Own partnership strategy, inclusive of creators, influencers, and ambassadors alongside larger brand partnerships.
- Partner with Paid Acquisition team on leveraging branded and creator content across paid channels.
- Collaborate with Marketplace team to ensure that brand storytelling is clear and consistent across the channel.
Execution & Optimization
- Ensure flawless execution across a cross-functional marketing calendar that covers key brand and consumer moments.
- Actively participate in execution when required—personally owning key initiatives, launches, or performance turnarounds.
- Optimize owned and earned media channels through clear strategy alongside rigorous analytics and testing.
- Partner with Paid Marketing, eCommerce, Marketplaces, and Creative to ensure a cohesive customer experience.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Collaborate closely with Product Development on launches, pricing, assortment, and lifecycle management.
- Partner with Finance on forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting.
- Align with Customer Experience teams to ensure customer needs are met through marketing.
- Manage a multi-disciplinary team alongside external agency partners.
Qualifications:
- 7–10 years of creative and brand management experience, with at least three years in a leadership role within a CPG company.
- Proven success scaling a growth company that operates across multiple sales channels globally.
- Strong understanding of unit economics, contribution margin, inventory dynamics, and demand forecasting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and execute in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Proven portfolio working with sports, fitness, wellness, or active lifestyle brands.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Hybrid work schedule (three days) based out of Solana Beach, California
Total compensation for this position in San Diego, CA is targeted at $185,000-$300,000 including base salary and bonus combined. Base pay will depend on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Bonuses are tied to individual and company performance. An equity incentive may also be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to medical and 401(k) benefits.

Staff Accountant
Job Summary: The Staff Accountant will be a key member of a small, hands-on accounting team, reporting to the Controller. This role owns full-cycle accounts payable and a broad set of reconciliations across multiple entities, and provides direct support during month-end close, including journal entry preparation. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-driven accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment and is comfortable wearing many hats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable across multiple entities: invoice intake and coding, vendor setup and maintenance, approval routing, payment processing, and vendor inquiries.
- Manage sales and marketing spend, ensuring proper entity and department coding (primarily managed through RAMP software).
- Perform daily bank reconciliations across all entity accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare miscellaneous balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations (e.g., credit cards, intercompany accounts, accrued liabilities, and prepaids).
- Prepare journal entries in support of month-end and year-end close, with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Setup customer records and manage receivables for growing wholesale business.
- Assist the Controller with month-end close tasks, variance research, and ad hoc accounting projects and analysis as needed.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with heavy emphasis on accounts payable and Reconciliations.
- Solid working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting principles.
- Experience working across multiple entities or a multi-company/multi-subsidiary structure preferred.
- NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with RAMP (or similar AP automation software) is a plus.
- Strong Excel skills; comfort working with data exports and reconciliation workpapers.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines independently in a lean team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Compensation and Schedule:
- Hybrid work schedule (three days in office) based out of Solana Beach, California
The hiring range for this position in San Diego, CA starts at $75,000 and can go up to $80,000. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus of up to 10% of annual salary and full range of medical & 401K benefits are also part of the compensation package.
